Major League Rules

 Macomb Little League will follow the rules listed below.  
National Little League shall apply for any rules not specifically listed.
The Little League Rulebook is available in app stores.

  1.  Six-inning games or 80-minute time limit, whichever comes first.

  2. Ties are ties.

  3. Major League has a seven run per inning max run rule .

  4. Only the supervisor on duty may inquire about how much time is left in the game.

  5. First Game: 
    Visitor takes infield for 10 minutes at 25 minutes before first pitch.
    Home takes infield for 10 minutes at 15 minutes before first pitch. 

  6. Maximum of three uniformed coaches in dugout per team.

  7. The Umpire in Chief with Supervisors Permission calls for the game to start.

  8. Continuous batting order. Everyone bats. Free substitutions.

  9. Only a coach may inquire about pitch counts, and may inquire at anytime.

  10. No use of a special/courtesy runner is allowed.

  11. Wild pitches, passed balls, and overthrows: 
    a. Baserunners may advance any number of bases per throw attempt.
    b. Scoring is permitted all season.

  12. No lead offs. Baserunners may not leave the base until the ball crosses home plate. 

  13. No “head-first” sliding into any base and violation of this rule will result in an out

  14. Pitch counts are tracked for the safety of players.
    - As the season progresses, the maximum number of pitches a player can throw will increase.
    - The required number of days of rest will not change.
    - Please refer to the Little League Rulebook for required days of rest, threshold procedures, and other nuance. 
    - Only coaches may inquire about pitch counts, and may inquire at any time.

  15. Any player that shows up late to a game and is not on the original scorecard or in the scorebook is added to the lineup in the last spot in the batting order. Every attempt must be made to meet mandatory play requirements.

  16. Any player that was on original score card and MUST leave the park for any reason during the game is skipped over in the batting order with no penalty to his team.

  17. Mandatory play: Each player must participate in each game for a minimum of six defensive outs and bat at least once.

  18. New half inning starts when the third out of previous half inning is recorded.

  19. New half inning starts always as long as time is left on timer when the third out is recorded.

  20. If time expires during the visiting team's turn batting, and the:
    - Home team is winning: The game is over, the home team wins, and the home team does not bat.
    - Home team is losing by seven or fewer runs: the home team is permitted to bat. 
    - Home team is losing by more than seven runs: The game is over, the visiting team wins, and the home team does not bat.

  21. If time expires during the home team's turn batting, the game is over when the third out is recorded. Ties are ties.

  22. Games maybe called on account of the weather or darkness ONLY by either the supervisor on duty or the umpire in chief.

  23.  A game forfeited regardless of whether it is played as an exhibition game ends in a score of 6-0 for the non-forfeiting team per LL rule book.

  24. Standings will be based on Winning Percentage in the Event that NOT all games are played.

  25. End-of-Season Tournament Seeding and tie breakers:
    a. Best overall record
    b. Head-to-head results
    c. Head-to-head runs allowed
    d. Head-to-head runs scored
    e. Coin toss
